Founded in 1993 by Paul Harrop and Robin Hargrave, who lent their names to the business, Harrop & Hargrave is Waiheke’s longest established accounting practice, providing professional accounting, and business and tax services.
In 2011, highly experienced Chartered Accountants David Johnson and Georgie Webber joined forces with Harrop & Hargrave, bringing a fresh and dynamic approach while retaining the local expertise and knowledge of the existing staff and with Paul continuing to support the business as an associate.
With a broad portfolio of accounting experience and skills, David and Georgie assist and guide clients through all aspects of accounting and business services from buying and selling businesses to bank loan applications, property, MYOB and general business advisory services.
From a small accounting practice in Whangarei, David moved to Auckland to progress his career as a company accountant then worked in London as a financial controller before returning to New Zealand shores. Most recently David was a senior associate at BKR Walker Wayland chartered accountants, a five-partner firm in Auckland’s CBD.
David’s time will be divided between offices in Auckland, where he is a director of Peat Johnson Murray, an Ellerslie based chartered accountancy firm, and the Waiheke Island Harrop & Hargrave office.
Married with two children, David is actively involved in the local rugby and golf clubs.
A Bachelor of Business and Chartered Accountant, Georgie has 14 years accounting experience and has depth and breadth of knowledge in working with smaller businesses whether on a tax issue, MYOB, Xero or business advisory services.
An enthusiast runner and Crossfitter, Georgie is keen to take on the Fullers Wharf2Wharf each year and has pledged to continue the company’s support for the event.
